| Everyone who parks at the University of Central
Florida, Orlando, must display a valid parking permit.
Due to the limited amount of parking spaces, we encourage everyone
to use public transportation or car pool with someone. Monthly LYNX
(bus) passes are sold to students at a discount. Student parking
is available on a first come/first served basis and does not guarantee
a parking space, however we do our best to provide a space for everyone.
Daily permit holders may not park overnight.

Why
Do I Have to Buy A Parking Permit?
The price of a parking permit is a "user" fee that authorizes
the purchaser to park on the University of Central Florida's property.
The fees go to Parking Services, which is a self-supporting entity
that relies solely on these fees for all construction, maintenance,
and operation of the University's parking facilities.
The parking permit indicates that the required fees have been
paid for use of the parking facilities. All vehicles that are
parked on the University campus must display a parking permit
unless parked in a metered space.
It is the customer's obligation to use the permit in accordance
with the University's Parking and Traffic Rules and Regulations.
The parking permit is authorized only for the registered vehicle,
and is not transferable to another vehicle unless the permit is
a hangtag. Parking permits are authorized for the individuals
by or for whom they are purchased. They are not to be transferred
to other individuals.

How
Do I Display My Permit?
The permit is not considered
valid unless it is suspended, face out, from the rear view mirror
on the inside of the vehicle, if a hangtag, or affixed to the
driver's side rear window or bumper, if a decal. Instructions
for the proper mounting/displaying of the permit are printed on
the reverse side.

What
If All of The Spaces are Full?
A parking permit does not guarantee
the holder a specific parking space on University property, or
in a specific area on the campus. It
only provides the opportunity to legally park on the campus, and
within an area designated for the particular permit type.
Drivers are responsible for finding an
authorized parking space. The lack of an available parking
space in a desired area, the existence of inclement weather while
parking, or other conditions or circumstance, do not justify parking
illegally or counter to the University's existing rules and regulations.

Is
It Okay If I Park Here?
Only if it is marked (striped) space if on a paved
lot or in a parking garage, or designated by the existence of
a wheel-stop or posts if in an unpaved lot. Parking is not permitted
in areas not clearly identified as parking spaces.
A general rule of thumb to follow " 'Is there a white line
on each side of my car,' or 'Is there a post or a wheel-stop in
front of my car' "? Areas not specifically designated as
parking spaces are considered "No Parking" areas,
and vehicles parked otherwise are most likely illegally parked.
In other words, if you are not sure if it's a parking space,
it's probably not one! Also, the absence of "No Parking"
signs or markings does not always mean the area or space is legal
